FRENCH PRESS

Remember, experimentation is key to finding the perfect brew for your taste preferences, so don't be afraid to adjust variables like grind size, water temperature, and steeping time.
MEASURE COFFEE
Start by measuring out your coffee beans. A standard ratio is around 1:15 coffee to water, but you can adjust to taste. For example, if you're making 16 ounces of coffee, you'll need roughly 30 grams of coffee.
GRIND TO COARSE
Grind your coffee beans to a coarse consistency, similar to breadcrumbs or sea salt.
PREHEAT THE FRENCH PRESS
Fill your French press with hot water to preheat it while you prepare your coffee.
ADD GROUND COFFEE
Discard the preheating water from the French press and add your ground coffee.
POUR HOT WATER
Pour hot water (just off the boil) over the coffee grounds, making sure they are fully saturated. Use a water temperature of around 200-205°F.
GENTLY STIR GROUNDS
Give the coffee grounds and water a gentle stir to ensure even saturation.
LET COFFEE BREW
Place the lid on the French press with the plunger pulled all the way up and let the coffee steep for about 4 minutes.
PRESS DOWN SLOWLY
After 4 minutes, slowly press down the plunger to separate the grounds from the coffee. Apply steady pressure, but not too forcefully.
SERVE FRESH BREW
Once pressed, immediately pour the brewed coffee into your cup or serving vessel to prevent over-extraction. Enjoy your freshly brewed French press coffee!
