AEROPRESS

A perfect espresso should start dripping thick, dark chocolaty drops. It slowly lightens and softens up and is topped with crema. The water's running time is around 30 seconds, assuring that the coffee grind is not over- or underextracted.

Remember, experimentation is key to finding the perfect brew for your taste preferences, so don't be afraid to adjust variables like grind size, water temperature, and steeping time.


MEASURE AND GRIND

Measure and grind 17g of coffee, roughly 2 1/2 tablespoons, to a fine consistency similar to table salt.


PREP THE AEROPRESS

Prepare the AeroPress by inserting the filter into the basket. Rinse the filter with hot water to remove any paper taste and warm up the brewer. Also, preheat your mug with hot water.


ADD THE GROUND COFFEE

Remove the rinse water from your mug. Attach the basket to the brew chamber and position it over the mug. Use the provided funnel to add the ground coffee, then remove the funnel.


START TIMER AND ADD WATER

Start your timer as you pour hot water (around 205°F) into the brewer, fully saturating the grounds within 10 seconds. Pour up to the No. 4 mark or 220g if you're using a scale. Spin the chamber to ensure even saturation.


PLACE PLUNGER AND WAIT

Once you reach the No. 4 mark, stir the mixture and place the plunger on the brew chamber to create a pressure seal. Wait until 1:15 before removing the seal and giving the mixture another stir.



STIR AND PLUNGE

After stirring, replace the plunger and gently press down with steady pressure until you hear a hissing sound, which indicates completion. This entire process should take just under two minutes and produce seven to eight ounces of coffee.
