This July, our team is sharing their favorite Impact beans and the stories behind them.
We all have that one coffee we keep coming back to, and we want to show you why. It’s personal, it’s real, and that’s what makes it special. Because Impact has always been more than just great coffee it’s about culture, roots, and the people behind the cup. And we’re telling that story, one bean at a time.
Mariam’s Pick: Aynu Coffee beans

For me, Aynu has this beautiful nutty taste that I just love especially when I drink it with milk. It’s smooth, comforting, but still has that little spark of something special.
You’ll find Mariam at our Carlsberg location, where she always knows which coffee beans suit your mood. Aynu is her go-to — a bright, floral coffee from the highlands near Limu, with notes of watermelon, blueberry, and a hint of citrus candy.
“It starts off fresh and fruity, but as it cools, it turns soft and sweet — almost like milk chocolate. It’s the kind of coffee that feels familiar and exciting at the same time. And that nutty note? That’s what keeps me coming back.”

Robert`s Pick: Desta Coffee beans

It’s the balance that gets me. There’s a clean start, then this unexpected depth that lingers. It’s complex, but not complicated just really well put together.
At the moment my favourite is Desta— a blend that’s both bright and grounded, with the clarity of washed beans and the richness of sun-dried. Robert, originally from Slovakia, wears many hats at Impact — barista, manager, problem-solver, coffee nerd. But at the core, he’s someone who believes coffee should always be more than routine.
Desta doesn’t just taste good — it makes me want to share it. And to me, that’s what great coffee is all about.
Mamu’s Pick: Beza Coffee beans

For me, Beza isn’t just coffee — it’s memory. The first time I tasted it, I felt like I was back in Addis Ababa, walking through the early morning markets with that warm, rich smell of fresh coffee in the air.
Mamu grew up in Addis Ababa, where coffee is more than a drink — it’s a daily ritual, a way of bringing people together. Beza beans bring that same feeling to every cup: smooth, full-bodied, and alive with tradition.
“It’s bold, but gentle. It reminds me of home, of family. That’s why I keep coming back to Beza.”
Kate’s Pick: Kaffa Coffee beans

It’s the kind of coffee that surprises you every time you brew it. It brightens my shift and reminds me how magical coffee really is.
Kate, our barista from Carlsberg Byen, is all about the Kaffa beans — a coffee as unique as its origins.
“Kaffa is like a walk through Ethiopia’s original coffee forests. You get these beautiful notes of wild forest berries and a delicate sweetness that feels so natural. And then there’s this rich chocolate aroma that just wraps everything together.”
For Kate, it’s that balance of fruitiness and chocolate that makes Kaffa special — elegant and lively, with a story rooted deep in tradition.
Victor’s Pick: Worke Coffee beans

I used to come in just for a good cup. Now I’m the one making it — and Worke is the one I always recommend. It’s subtle, but full of personality. The more I brew it, the more I love it.
Victor started out as our neighbor on Langgade — now, he’s behind the bar as one of our newest baristas. And his favorite bean? Worke.
“There’s something about Worke that just feels real. It’s clean, floral, and has this soft acidity that lifts the whole cup without overwhelming it.”
Grown in the highlands of Yirgachefe, Worke is floral, citrusy, and soft-bodied — a well-balanced coffee with a strong sense of place. For Victor, it’s that clarity and character that makes it stand out. From customer to team member, Victor’s coffee journey is just beginning — and Worke is the bean that’s coming with him.
Sapnah’s Pick: Aynu Coffee beans

It’s playful, but grounding. A coffee that keeps surprising you.
If you’ve visited us at Valby St., you’ve likely met Sapnah — full of warmth, energy, and always ready to share her latest favorite.
Right now, it’s Aynu.
“It’s such a joyful cup,” she says. “It starts off bright and floral, almost sparkling — then softens into something sweet and comforting.”
Aynu opens with notes of watermelon and blueberry, followed by a hint of citrus candy that gives a refreshing first impression. As the cup cools, the flavor deepens — smooth milk chocolate, delicate nut aroma, and a balanced acidity that lingers just right.
Grown in the highlands near Limu, Aynu is a cup full of life — and it’s no wonder Sapnah keeps coming back to it.
Sara’s Pick: Desta Coffee beans

What I love about Desta is the balance — it’s like two worlds coming together in one cup. The washed gives it that clean brightness, and the sun-dried brings in this deep, fruity warmth. It’s complex, but so smooth.
Sara reaches for Desta when she wants something comforting but still a little adventurous. It’s a blend that reflects contrast — just like life: bright mornings, slow afternoons, and everything in between.
“Desta means ‘joy’ in Amharic, and honestly, that’s exactly how this coffee makes me feel.”
Ewa's Pick: Nehi Coffee beans

“Nehi reminds me of Nørrebro in the morning—fresh, full of life, and just a little unexpected,” Ewa says with a smile.
Ewa has chosen Nehi, and it’s more than just a preference—it’s a reflection of her rhythm and presence behind the bar at Nørrebro. Nehi’s sweet, fruity notes and bright citrus aroma mirror the lightness and energy she brings to every cup she serves.
Working in the heart of Nørrebro—where cultures blend and the streets hum with life—Ewa finds something familiar in Nehi’s clean, vibrant character. Grown in the highlands of Sidama, this coffee carries a clarity and brightness that resonates with the neighborhood's spirit.
Whether it’s the first cup of the day or a refreshing brew for the afternoon crowd, Nehi’s fruity sweetness and crisp acidity make it her go-to. For Ewa, it’s not just coffee—it’s a connection.
